The sixth China Youth Volunteer Service Competition ended on Nov 15 and two projects from Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – won a national silver medal and a national bronze medal, respectively.
One of the two projects is called the Construction of Friendly Relations between Children and the Elderly in Relocation Communities in Nujiang Prefecture. It's led by Gao Wanhong, a teacher from YNU's ethnology and sociology school.
The other project is called the Financial Fraud Prevention Knowledge on Campus Volunteer Service Project – led by Li Xian, a teacher at YNU's school of economics.

Teacher Gao's project team is understood to be committed to innovation and breakthroughs in volunteer services. It explores their use to promote grass-roots social governance and the rural vitalization of ethnic communities.
From June 2020, the team has mainly carried out services for such things as children's mental health education, children's safety and environmental protection education classes and early family education guidance for new mothers.

The volunteer services team of teacher Li's project was founded in early June 2020 to develop a volunteer services project with the theme of preventing financial fraud.
The project is committed to combining volunteer service activities with college student anti-fraud awareness. It combines financial technology with anti-fraud know-how and integrates knowledge and interest.
