The 2022 Academic Annual Meeting of the Professional Committee of International Political Studies of the Chinese Association of Higher Education was held on Nov 19, with Yunnan University, or YNU, in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province, serving as the main onsite venue and Fudan University in Shanghai serving as the onsite sub-venue.
Over 150 experts, scholars and doctoral students from more than 50 universities across the country participated in online or onsite meetings, while 57 academic papers were received during the event.
Liao Lianzhong, vice president of YNU, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Lu Guangsheng, dean of the Institute of International Relations of Yunnan University and the organizer of the event, introduced the international politics and international affairs degree programs at YNU, which are currently being developed, during the meeting.
He also pointed out that the institute will focus on building a first-class degree program and a high-end think tank.
The academic annual meeting has now been successfully held 20 years in a row. This year is the second time that YNU has hosted the event.
In addition, the academic seminar on the integration and development of international political theory and regional and national disciplines was also held. Experts and scholars conducted eight in-depth discussions on issues such as "global governance and the high-quality development path and method of the Belt and Road Initiative" and "current situation and future of the world economy".
