The Education Department of Yunnan Province recently released the list of 2022 national and provincial innovation and entrepreneurship training projects for college students. Yunnan University (YNU) was approved to establish 247 of these projects. YNU has shown a year-on-year growth of 21.1 percent, ranking first in the province.
Among the approved YNU projects, 102 are national general projects and two national key support field projects. These national key support field projects are the "High Altitude Intelligent Patrol Integrated Solution" by the School of Software and the "Internet of Things System for Chinese Herbal Medicine Based on Composite Machine Vision Monitoring" by the School of Information.
In recent years, the number of participants, number of projects and quality of projects has steadily increased year by year. A number of high-quality academic papers, invention patents, practical works and other outstanding achievements have been produced because of these projects, making positive contributions to rural vitalization, plateau featured agriculture, green energy, cultural tourism and other fields.
The number of national and provincial innovation projects increased from 76 in 2018 to 247 in 2022, and the proportion of undergraduate students participating in innovation projects has reached over 85 percent.
