YNU's Fang also hosted the Sub-forum of Biodiversity and Green Development. Its goal was to explore a new path for the bio economy and sustainable development in the new era, based on Yunnan's biological resources and its environmental advantages.

In recent years, the School of Materials and Energy at Yunnan University and a team led by Wang Chongyu, a professor at Beijing's Tsinghua University, have jointly built the first high-throughput computing platform for rare and precious metal materials in China.

Moving forwards, plans are for the three parties to continue to establish what is known as the Yunnan Province Wang Chongyu Academician Workstation.
