Updated: Feb 7, 2023

Professors Zhang Jinpeng and Chen Xi at Yunnan University – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – led a research team to carry out a rural survey in the province's Ning'er Hani and Yi autonomous county on Jan 30.

The research team comprised 19 teachers and students from Yunnan University, the Party School of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee, Pu'er University and other universities. The research theme was the "China Rural Social Survey (Yunnan as the Sample)".

With the strong support of Ninger county, the research team went to Nakeli, Xingguang, Chahe and other villages there for in-depth research.

According to the survey, the team summarized the achievements and experience of Ning'er county in poverty alleviation, grass-roots governance and national unity.

The Yunnan University initiative carried out a comprehensive survey in 42 counties and districts across the province.

The project is focused on the theme of "rural vitalization" from the perspective of discipline integration – interpreting the region's outstanding results in poverty alleviation and rural vitalization.
