YNU academician publishes paper in international journal

An academician at Yunnan University – located in Kunming, in Southwest China's Yunnan province – recently published a paper in Natural Product Reports, a prestigious monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal issued by the Royal Society of Chemistry in the United Kingdom.

A research team led by Zhang Keqin – an academician at the State Key Laboratory for Conservation and Utilization of Bio-Resources in YNU was invited to publish a summary in the journal in the field of natural product research.

The summary is titled Natural Nematicidal Metabolites and Advances in Their Biocontrol Capacity on Plant Parasitic Nematodes.

Crop diseases caused by nematodes are the second largest category of diseases after pathogenic fungi. Natural products with nematicidal activity are important sources of biological control of nematodes.

The research team is committed to the biological control of plant pathogenic nematodes. With the rapid development of modern agriculture, the management strategy of integrated nematode control is seen as being increasingly important.

The paper was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Yunnan Major Science and Technology Project.
