Yunnan University, Fudan University and Lanzhou University recently cooperated on research into the invasion and management of spartina alterniflora, providing scientific and technical support for the comprehensive implementation of the Special Action Plan for Spartina Alterniflora Control (2022-2025) co-issued by the National Forestry and Grass Administration and other national departments.

In response to the invasive spartina alterniflora, Li Bo, a distinguished professor of Fudan University and Yunnan University, led the compilation and publication of Plant Invasion Ecology – The Case of Spartina Alterniflora in China, with 38 postdoctoral and graduate students participating in relevant research.

Based on the research achievements of Professor Li's team over the past 20 years, the book systematically summarizes the research progress into spartina alterniflora on the basis of proper reference to relevant work at home and abroad.

The achievements not only provide a direct basis for a comprehensive understanding of the invasion status and integrated management path of spartina alterniflora in China, but also provide a model reference book for the teaching of invasion biology.

This research was supported by the National Key Research and Development Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
