The Shanghai Alumni Association of Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province – held a meeting entitled "My Story with YNU" on Feb 11 to celebrate the 100th birthday of their alma mater on April 20.
The choice to hold the celebration on Feb 11 was made for two reasons: in 1996, Yunnan University was honored among the first group of key construction universities listed in the national "211 Project", and it is also listed as a "first-class universities and disciplines" construction university.
Hu Jianfeng, secretary-general of the Yunnan University Alumni Association, Li Jian, president of the Shanghai Alumni Association of YNU, and Liu Xinuo, head of the preparatory group of the Jiangsu Alumni Association of YNU, as well as alumni in Shanghai attended the event.
