An exchange meeting for the heads of the investigation teams of Yunnan University's China Rural Social Survey was held at the university's Chenggong campus on March 4-5.

Yunnan University, or YNU, is located in the city of Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

In the wake of the official launch of the survey on Oct 27 last year, 875 teachers and students from 15 leading universities in and outside the province – including Yunnan University, Peking University, the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, East China Normal University and Southwest University – traveled to 42 counties throughout Yunnan.

They carried out a survey on its industrial vitalization, talent vitalization, cultural vitalization, ecological vitalization and organizational vitalization.

The project covered 696 villages, completed 9,048 individual questionnaires and had more than 100 discussions with relevant local departments.

At the survey stage, each team learned about the achievements of poverty alleviation and the practice of rural vitalization in each county and carried out quantitative and qualitative analysis and research on them.

At the two-day exchange meeting, the heads of the four investigation teams presented detailed reports on their preliminary work. The members of the evaluation expert group then commented on the work of each team and put forward comments and suggestions for the next stage of the work.
