Alumni branch of Yunnan University set up

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Yunnan University – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – the School of Architecture and Planning of the university held an inaugural meeting of the alumni branch of the school on March 3.

The meeting was broadcast live by Yunnan New Media to alumni at home and abroad, with more than 1,000 people participating online. The new branch and its inaugural meeting were said to have established a new platform for unity for alumni everywhere.

Two honorary presidents of the alumni branch and 31 board members and relevant principals were elected.

Zhang Ying, an urban planning major of the school and the current head of the branch of Beijing CCI Architectural Design Co, delivered a speech on behalf of alumni.

He said that as vice president of the new branch, he would work closely with the school to do a great job for its alumni and make a greater contribution to the development of the school and the university.

Alumni of the branch donated more than 300 sets of new drawing tables and chairs to the school.
