Experts gather at electron microscope forum

The first West China Electron Microscope Youth Forum was held in the Electron Microscope Center of Yunnan University – in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province – on April 7-8.

Hu Wanbiao, head of Electron Microscope Center at Yunnan University, presided over the proceedings.

More than 10 experts and scholars in the field of materials and electron microscopy – from Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other universities and institutes – attended the forum.

They discussed the development of electron microscopy technology and its application in the fields of material science, the life sciences and nanomaterials. They also shared their experiences in building large test platforms in universities.

The participants also discussed matters related to the reconstruction of the Yunnan Electron Microscopy Society and the resumption of regular activities.

The forum promoted academic development, industrial innovation and cooperation in the field of electron microscopy – and endeavored to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Yunnan University and outstanding scholars and enterprises in the field.
