Academician Li Lanjuan was recently appointed by the School of Medicine and the Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – as its chief distinguished expert.
The appointment ceremony was held in the hospital on April 20.
Li Lanjuan is an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as being a professor and a chief physician at Zhejiang University. In the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak in China in 2020, she worked many times on the front line.
After the ceremony, Li gave a lecture to hospital staff members, entitled Standardized Whole-course Management of Liver Disease.
Li stressed that it was necessary to accelerate the collaborative management of the whole course of chronic liver disease with multiple disciplines and departments – and establish a standardized whole-course management center for liver disease.
After the lecture, she visited the department of infectious diseases at the hospital for ward rounds and diagnosed and treated some patients.
At the same time, Li also answered doubts raised by medical staff members in a case report and put forward relevant guidance for diagnoses and treatments.
