YNU welcomes visiting high school students

Renmin University of China in Beijing and Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, jointly held a study tour activity to help outstanding students from Lanping County No 1 High School enter their campuses and learn more about what they have to offer.

The students first visited Beijing under the leadership of the graduate education support group of Renmin University of China, and then returned to Yunnan for a study tour of YNU.

The latter is a key exchange activity created by the graduate education support group of the university. It has been successfully held numerous times since 2015.

YNU held a welcome ceremony for the study tour at its Chenggong Campus on April 29.

During the tour at YNU, students visited its Electron Microscope Center, learned about the construction process and function of the center, as well as the application principles, equipment characteristics, operation process and related results of electron microscopes.

At the Yunnan University Observatory, students visited its astronomy exhibition hall, digital sky hall, optical telescope with a one-meter aperture, and radio telescope with a 12-meter aperture, learning more about astronomy outside their normal classes.

They also visited the Yunnan University History Museum, Huize Academy, and Kunming Army Military Hall to learn about the profound history and culture of YNU and Yunnan itself.
