President of CMU Thailand visits Yunnan seeking more cooperation with YNU

Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, the president of Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Thailand, and his team visited Yunnan University (YNU) on May 10 to discuss cooperation between the two universities.

Party Secretary Lin Wenxun, Vice President Hu Jinming and other staff members of YNU joined the symposium and signed an agreement with CMU.

Lin said YNU will continue to carry out all-round cooperation with CMU. The signing of this agreement will deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, he added.

Mr Pongruk said he hoped to use this visit as an opportunity to develop more in-depth cooperation between the two universities in terms of academic research, international research projects, and student exchanges.

At the symposium, the two sides also signed a memorandum of cooperation. All of the participants exchanged their views on future cooperation in key fields like business administration, ethnology and ecology.

Afterwards, Mr Pongruk and his team visited YNU's School of Business and Tourism Management, and then met and had exchanges with the Chinese and Thai students participating in the cooperative university program organized by the two sides.
