Southwest China's Yunnan province carried out the selection of provincial demonstration colleges for students' labor education from November 2022 to May 2023, and recently selected 10 demonstration colleges out of 81 colleges and universities in the province, with Yunnan University (YNU) included among the 10 colleges.

The Yunnan Provincial Department of Education held the launch ceremony and the opening of the exhibition series on Yunnan labor education achievements. Liao Lianzhong, vice president of YNU, introduced the university's labor education system for students at the launch ceremony.

YNU teachers and undergraduates also participated in the achievement exhibition, which showcased students' works, such as intelligent robots, tie-dye crafts, and sculptures.

In recent years, the university has actively explored the integration of labor education and the second classroom, forming a labor education system after three years of practice.

Since the implementation of its labor education program, a series of phased achievements have been achieved, including students writing more than 10,000 reports and shooting more than 100 short videos. In addition, 875 teachers and students surveyed 9,048 rural households in 42 counties in Yunnan province, completing over 10,000 questionnaires and collating nearly 40 million words of research materials. In total, students' per capita social service hours reached 86, which has been reported more than 50 times by national media platforms.
