Yunnan University teams win at national programming event

The 2023 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) China Invitational Competition ended in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on May 14. Two of the three teams under the guidance of Associate Professor Liu Jinzhuo from the School of Software of Yunnan University in Kunming won silver medals, the best performance in this kind of high-level competition among universities in Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The ICPC is a competition that aims to demonstrate college students' innovation, teamwork, and their ability to program, as well as analyze and solve problems. It is known as the "Olympics of computer software". A total of 361 teams from 172 universities in the country took part in the competition.

Since 2020, Liu has established the ICPC training team of Yunnan University as a coach, gathering a group of students from Yunnan University who love algorithms to participate in the team.

The Yunnan University ICPC training team has won many awards in ICPC-related events. It has also won many algorithms competitions across various levels, such as the Group Programming Ladder Tournament, the Lanqiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Professionals Competition, as well as the Collegiate Computer System & Programming Contest.
