Major project researched by YNU's professor to start

"A Study on the Practice, Gains, and Losses of Border Governance in Ancient China," the 2022 major bidding project of the Chinese Academy of History under the National Social Science Foundation, was launched on May 21. Ma Qi is the chief expert, a professor from the School of History and Archives of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming.

The research opening meeting was held in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province. Li Guoqiang, executive vice president of the Chinese Academy of History, and Lin Wenxun, secretary of the Yunnan University CPC committee, attended and addressed the opening meeting online. They respectively affirm that this project will promote the modernization system and ability of border governance as well as improve the academic level of the history discipline of Yunnan University.

Ma reported on the meeting's core issues, main contents, expected objectives, and research team members. Sub-project leaders – including Professor Lu Ren and Researcher Cheng Yinong of Yunnan University, Professor Xue Gang of Changchun Normal University, and Professor Liu Quanbo of Lanzhou University – also made additional remarks.

Following thorough discussions, the esteemed panel of experts unanimously came to a conclusive agreement that the proposed project holds immense significance and is based on the cutting-edge of academic research. The project boasts clear and concise objectives, achievable tasks, a practical promotion pathway, and predictable research outcomes. As a result of their considered analysis, the experts have granted the project the green light to proceed.
