YNU fosters more exchanges with foreign universities

Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province, has recently cooperated with governments and universities in South and Southeast Asia.

The university signed a memorandum of understanding on inter-university cooperation with Institut Teknologi Bandung on May 24.

The two sides will focus on student exchange programs, joint scientific research by teachers, international student enrollment and language courses.

Institut Teknologi Bandung is the most famous public university of science and technology in Indonesia, and is also one of the founding members of the South and Southeast Asian University Network. It has participated in many activities held by the network.

On May 30, Tuang Untachai, chairman of the education committee of Thailand's upper house of parliament, led a delegation to visit Yunnan University.

Hu Jinming, the university's vice president, together with relevant departments and heads of the schools held a symposium with Tuang Untachai and his delegation on promoting bilateral educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Thailand.

At the event, the two sides sought cooperation between Thai universities and YNU in such areas as exchange visits between their teachers and students, joint training for talents, and joint scientific research.
