In a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions, Li Bo, the esteemed dean of the Biodiversity Research Institute of Yunnan University (YNU), was bestowed with the prestigious title of excellent sci-tech worker by the Chinese Ecological Society. This esteemed honor was bestowed upon Li Bo on the occasion of the seventh National Science and Technology Workers' Day, celebrated on May 30.
Li is an outstanding scholar in the field of invasion ecology in China. He systematically studied invasive plants' diversity and spatial patterns and built a database to promote the study of invasive ecology in China.

With an impressive track record, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in the field of scientific research. Over the course of his career, he has successfully presided over 25 national scientific research projects; completed 15 translation works and monographs – including the Ecology of Plant Invasion: A Study on the Draft of Alternating Flowering Rice and other monographs; published more than 330 papers, of which 260 papers in Science, Nature Plants and Nature Sustainability; was selected as one of the world's top 2 percent top scientists.
In March, the Ministry of Education announced the results of establishing new critical laboratories of the ministry in 2022, and the Key Laboratory of Southwest Cross-border Ecological Security of Yunnan University was selected. Li also played an essential role in the application of the critical laboratory.
