Changxin art college helps preserve handicraft skills

The Handicraft Academic Forum of Yunnan University Changxin International Art College was held in Huaning county on June 25.

The forum was supported by the Institute of Arts and Crafts of the Chinese Academy of Arts, the Yunnan Folk Craft Inheritance Association, Jingdezhen Ceramic Art Research Institute, and other academic units.

Experts and scholars made suggestions about the development of a new educational paradigm for the training of artisans in Yunnan.

On the same day, an awards ceremony for the "Yuxi Handicraft Practice Training Base" and "Chinese Traditional Handicraft Inheritance Training Center" of Yunnan University Changxin International Art College was held in Huaning county.

The base and center will strengthen academic exchanges in handicrafts and promote the innovative development of Huaning's pottery crafts.

As part of a series of activities, an exhibition showcasing the latest achievements and hands-on activities of the handicraft training base were also held at the same time. The exhibition displayed over 40 outstanding works of porcelain painting, printmaking, Chinese painting, oil painting and calligraphy.

The college will continue to hold handicraft courses, conduct more advanced research classes and host a series of master lectures in Huaning county. This will provide more artistic platforms and support for talents to shape local handicraft art brands and boost the high-quality development of projects that integrate culture and tourism.
