A team led by Professor Xu Jian of the School of Architecture and Planning of Yunnan University went to Yunling township, Deqin county, Shangri-La city, to carry out rural vitalization work from July 2 to 4.
A seminar and award ceremony for supporting rural vitalization took place in the government building of Deqin on the morning of July 3. The Yunling township was awarded the Yunnan University College of Architecture and Planning Rural Vitalization Base.
The relevant personnel of the School of Architecture and Planning and the Rural Vitalization Office of Yunnan University and the relevant leaders of various departments in Deqin county participated at the seminar.
At the seminar, they discussed the specific assistance content in education and training for government cadre, talent attraction and training work, education and sports, agriculture and forestry, health care, and planning on culture and tourism.
The Meili Snow Mountain is a world-class and scarce tourist resource in Deqin county. How to make good planning and management around this feature will be the direction for the two sides to explore cooperation in the future jointly.
In the future, the two sides will cooperate in cadre training, tourism planning, residential renovation and design, public space building, and student social volunteering to make practical efforts to help rural vitalization.
Xu's team also came to Xidang village of Yunling township for investigation and discussion, focusing on the history and development status of the village, resource endowment, village characteristics, and needs. They also visited local homestays and other tourism-supporting projects.
