The Geography Field Joint Practice Summary Exchange Meeting of Universities in Southwest China was held in the School of Earth Sciences of Yunnan University on July 23.
Liao Lianzhong, vice president of Yunnan University, teachers and students of the School of Earth Sciences, and more than 100 teachers and students from 11 universities in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Shaanxi, and Fujian participated in the meeting.
The Southwest Region University Geography Field Joint Practice Alliance was created to bring together regional geography resources for practical use.
In Liao's speech, he hoped that the universities of the alliance would continue to explore the unique national geography joint teaching and practice lines and resources and contribute to the practical teaching of geography.
Yunnan University, as a vital member unit of the alliance, is responsible for the arrangement and design of the teaching content of the Yunnan section of the joint practice of universities in Southwest China.
The practice lasted 12 days, reached the Loess Plateau, Qinling Mountains, Sichuan Basin, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, drove more than 3,000 kilometers through more than 20 cities and regions, and visited different natural landscapes and human and economic activities.
The successful development of the field joint practice has enlightening significance to promote further the practical teaching reform of geographical science major in our university.
