University volunteers teach kids in Yunnan township

Volunteers from both Yunnan University in Southwest China's Yunnan province and Huaqiao University in East China's Fujian province recently made a joint visit to Lianhuatang township in Yunnan's Wenshan Zhuang and Miao autonomous prefecture to conduct a 21-day summer volunteer teaching activity from July 11 to 31.

This volunteer activity offered a series of courses such as music, dance, fun English classes and more. It also included a rural summer camp, as well as fun sports games and a gala.

The volunteers also made home visits and carried out social research, to fully prepare for the targeted poverty alleviation measures and rural vitalization assistance set to be conducted later.

As the summer camp wrapped up, local government officials, teachers and villagers prepared a banquet stuffed with local delicacies to thank the volunteers for their 21 days of selfless service.
