The final of the eighth National College Undergraduate Life Sciences Competition (Scientific Inquiry) was held from Aug 10 to 11. Teams from the College of Life Sciences at Yunnan University picked up 16 awards, including two first prizes, four second prizes, and 10 third prizes.
Among them, lecturer Ding Lei's project dubbed "preliminary study on the mechanism of Bcl-2/ROS regulation of autophagy related gene methylation in breast cancer cells" and researcher Liu Junzhong's project "molecular mechanism of HTT5 regulation of plant early flowering under high temperature" won the first prize at the national final.
As one of the most influential competitions for national college students in the field of life sciences, this serves as an important platform to cultivate students' sense of innovation, practical ability and team spirit, as well as broaden their scientific horizons, and promote reform in the teaching of the various life science disciplines.
