A working group – composed of the Undergraduate School, the School of Physical Education, the School of Art and Design, and the Changxin International Art College of Yunnan University – went to eight primary and secondary schools in Jinghong city, Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Yunnan province to carry out sports and fine arts research from Aug 28 to 30.
The university also signed a cooperation agreement with the Jinghong municipal people's government to help the balanced development of compulsory education in the city.
In these eight primary and secondary schools, the working group understood the teaching characteristics and urgent needs of each school by conducting detailed research of each school's physical and aesthetic education courses, teachers and teaching conditions, and related club operation. The group also researched students' learning environment, and communicated with local teachers.

Combining the characteristics and development needs of Jinghong's schools, Yunnan University will give full play to the advantages of talent resources, select and dispatch outstanding teachers and students to the city, and improve the teaching level and quality of sports aesthetic education in Jinghong.
Jinghong will receive comprehensive support from the university through a dedicated resident assistance team for a period of three years. This assistance will include access to sports and fine arts education, practical activities, competitions and exhibitions, teacher training, and other services that will benefit counterpart schools.
