Yunnan University students shine at national surveying event

The Surveying and Mapping Skills Contest of Innovation and Entrepreneurship wrapped up recently in Yunnan, part of this year's National College Students' Surveying and Mapping Discipline.

Yunnan University students Yin Pengxiang and Gu Shuyang won the first and second prizes, respectively, in the Virtual Simulation Digital Mapping Project.

The Surveying and Mapping Skills Contest of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the highest-level competition in which college students can showcase their surveying and mapping skills and innovation in the fields of science and technology. It has also been included in the list of competitions for the "2023 National College Students Competition Analysis Report".

The contest attracted more than 4,000 participants from more than 300 universities in China, promoting exchanges between teams of students majoring in surveying and mapping from various universities.

During the contest, Yunnan University arranged for many teachers to guide students, fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of both. By taking part, the students got the opportunity to improve their practical skills.
