Confucius Institute at North South University holds meeting at YNU

The 2023 annual council meeting of the Confucius Institute at North South University in Bangladesh was convened at Yunnan University on Oct 11.

Teachers of the Confucius Institute at North South University gave briefings on the work report and financial report for the 2022-2023 academic year, while also discussing the work plan for 2024.

At the meeting, a consensus was reached on these projects, including the establishment of a Chinese language and culture undergraduate program at North South University, the construction of multi-functional smart classrooms at the Confucius Institute, the building of the China-South Asia Social and Cultural Research Center, as well as the establishment of an international joint laboratory for the remote sensing of natural resources in China, Laos, Myanmar, and Bangladesh.

The agenda for the upcoming council meeting was also clarified.

The Confucius Institute at North South University was founded by the universities in 2006 and stands as the first such institute in the South Asian region.

Over the course of 17 years, it has achieved significant milestones in providing high-quality Chinese language education, fostering cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh, and advancing educational and research collaboration.
