Confucius Institute in Bangladesh holds meeting at Yunnan University

The 2023 Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh was held at Yunnan University in Southwest China's Yunnan province on Oct 9.

Before the meeting, Zhou Xuebin, secretary of Yunnan University’s CPC Committee, met with Md. Akhtaruzzaman, president of the University of Dhaka, and extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of Yunnan University.

Yunnan University expressed its hope of seeing further collaboration in areas such as Sino-Bangladeshi education and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Attendees deliberated on the 2023 work report, 2024 work plan, and the financial report of the Confucius Institute, and approved all three.

In-depth discussions and agreements were made on projects such as the joint cultivation of Chinese undergraduate majors between the two universities, sending Yunnan University Bangla language majors to conduct research in Bangladesh, establishing a field research base in Bangladesh. The meeting also clarified numerous issues related to the next council session.
