A signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement between Yunnan University in Southwest China's Yunnan province and Sunwah Group in Hong Kong was held at the university on Oct 21.
Before the ceremony, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on how to serve the national development strategy, undertake practical cooperation and achieve mutual development.
They expressed their commitment to jointly promote projects in such areas as the establishment of the Jonathan K S Choi Cultural Center, talent training, industry-education integration and the commercialization of sci-tech achievements.
In 1976, Dr Jonathan K S Choi took over as the chairman of the company, and under his leadership, Sunwah Group has grown into a large multinational conglomerate with diversified businesses and five listed companies.
Nowadays, Sunwah operates in eight major sectors – seafood and foodstuffs, real estate, financial services, technology, infrastructure, media, education and training – as well as green technology and healthcare.
The group's investment network spans Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao – as well as countries and regions including Japan, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Singapore, Canada, Europe, the United States and Australia.
