The final evaluation of the "Stars of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Yunnan" was held in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, from Oct 12 to 13. Three students from Yunnan University were all selected for the coveted awards. At the same time, these three students are set to receive a government reward of 100,000 yuan ($13,736) each.
Zhang Yang, leader of the "Promoting Rural Vitalization with the Succinct Integration of Production, Education, and Research in the Succulent Industry" project, was awarded the title of "Entrepreneurship Star". Cai Yunhong, the project leader for "Leading the Phosphogypsum Green Building Materials Industry", and Wang Jiashun, who has been overseeing the project dubbed "An Intelligent Depression Diagnosis System Based on Multimodal Data", were recognized as "Innovation Stars".
This event was launched in August and included participants from university students, rural entrepreneurs, returning hometown entrepreneurs, company employees, overseas returnees, and more.
The projects under evaluation mainly fell under such industries as plateau-specific modern agriculture, next-generation information technology, cultural industries, advanced manufacturing, new materials, new energy, and biomedicine.
They all closely align with Yunnan's economic and industrial development, effectively promoting the high-quality development of the provincial economy.
