The Second Sino-German History Research Youth Forum, hosted by the History and Archives School of Yunnan University, was held at the university on Oct 20.

Some 26 graduates from 21 universities participated, including those from Peking University, University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Yunnan University, Humboldt University of Berlin, the University of Bonn – also in Germany – and Cambridge University in England.

Researcher Jing Dexiang from the Institute of World History at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Professor Qian Jinfei from Yunnan University delivered lectures with the titles of "Unification of Germany and Ranke" and "An Initial Exploration of the Financial Issues and Resolution Mechanisms of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation," respectively.

The students who participated in the youth forum were divided into four groups so they could discuss various themes, with experts providing feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their papers and offering professional suggestions for revisions.

Following the youth forum, all of the participants joined the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Sino-German History Research Association and an academic seminar on "Turning Points in German History".
