The fifth Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing and Speech Contest, organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Language Committee, recently concluded.
Li Yitian, an international student from the School of Chinese International Education at Yunnan University in Southwest China's Yunnan province, won first place in the provincial competition for international students and advanced to the national finals. In the national finals, she was honored with the second prize of international student group of poetry interpretation.
Jia Hanyu and Ruan Feilong, international students also from the university, were awarded third place in the national competition for international student group. Other students, including Mo Hua and Ding Nan, received the Outstanding Prize in the national competition for international student group.
Yunnan University secured the top spot among Yunnan provincial universities in terms of awards in this competition.
Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing and Speech Contest is one of the flagship activities of the Chinese Classics Recitation Project.
