The contest is a significant platform for graduate students nationwide to enhance their ability to establish mathematical models and apply internet information technology to solve practical problems. It aims to cultivate a spirit of scientific research innovation and teamwork.
The current contest began in September 2023 and attracted 65,133 graduate students from 524 training units to participate.
In preparation for the contest, the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Yunnan University invited the proposers and judges of the 2022 event, as well as experienced mathematical modeling experts and award-winning students from the university, to provide training for participating teams. The training covered topics such as explaining proposition rules, evaluation criteria, contest preparation, modeling knowledge, problem-solving techniques, and paper writing.
Through the efforts of cadres and instructors from various graduate training units and the active participation of graduate students, Yunnan University has won the first prize in the contest for three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023.
