Updated: Jan 16, 2024

Yunnan University, also known as YNU – based in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – last year achieved significant success in promoting its academic development, going from strength to strength in the construction of distinctive Chinese philosophy and social sciences.

The university got the go-ahead for 53 projects in various categories under the National Social Science Fund, including a dozen major projects.

The 12 projects spanned multiple fields, encompassing research on interpreting the spirit of the Party's 20th Congress, four major bidding projects from the National Social Science Fund for the Chinese Academy of History's major historical issues research program, as well as an academic team project for researching obscure and profound subjects.

The achievements are said to have propelled Yunnan University to new heights in the annual approval of major bidding projects under the National Social Science Fund.

On top of that, in 2023 the university secured 12 projects in various categories from the Ministry of Education in the field of humanities and the social sciences, along with 10 annual research projects in that area of endeavor.

Overall, the approvals are understood to have signified considerable progress being made by the university in projects affiliated with the Ministry of Education.
