In 2023, Yunnan University (YNU) produced a batch of high-level research achievements in the field of philosophy and social sciences, winning an increasing number of awards for its research accomplishments.
In February 2023, Professor Wang Yueping and Associate Professor You Tianlong from Yunnan University's School of Ethnology and Sociology published a high-level paper titled "China's Borderlands in the Post-Globalization Era" in China Information, an international authoritative journal.
In July last year, the 2022 list of Top 10 outstanding papers in Chinese history was released. "A Review of Western Scholars' Research on the History of Southwest China's Borderlands", written by Professor Luo Qun, from Yunnan University's School of History and Archives, was included onto the list.
In September of the same year, Oxford University Press published the book "Oxford Handbook: China and Overseas Chinese Music", which was edited by Professor Yu Hui from Yunnan University. This book was distributed globally.
Additionally, in 2023, the university received awards for a batch of original and landmark research achievements. This included three awards at the fifth Qomolangma Award for Tibetan Studies in China, four awards for outstanding national ethnic work research reports in 2022, as well as 64 awards for philosophy and social science research from Yunnan province.
