Yunnan University improves capabilities in regional studies

Updated: Jan 19, 2024

In 2023, Yunnan University continued to enhance its capabilities in regional country studies and social services.

The university focused on key areas, such as South and Southeast Asian studies, West Asian and African studies, as well as investigations and research related to countries involved in the "Belt and Road" Initiative, exploring cross-disciplinary integration.

In June 2023, the Yunnan University Institute of International Relations, the Yunnan University Center for Neighboring Diplomacy Studies, and the Yunnan University Center for Lancang-Mekong River Sub-Regional Research jointly hosted a seminar on "Theoretical Frontiers and Hot Issues in Regional and Country Studies" in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

In November last year, the third Forum on Anthropology and Regional Country Studies, sponsored by Yunnan University's Southwest Border Ethnic Groups Research Center, was successfully held.
