The Laboratory Animal Center of Yunnan University passed the evaluation of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and obtained the CNAS Laboratory Animal Facility Accreditation Certificate on Jan 5.

Following Tsinghua University, Yunnan University has become the second Chinese university to obtain the qualification.
The CNAS accreditation signifies that the quality management system established by the Laboratory Animal Center of Yunnan University, as well as the operation and management of hardware facilities, animal breeding and medical care services, occupational health and safety, IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee), and more, comply with international standards.
The center officially started operating in January 2022. By July 31, 2022, it had completed seven chapters of the quality management manual, 45 procedural documents, 163 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), 13 chapters of the safety manual, 227 record manuals, and nine chapters of the IACUC manual.
Next, the center will work to improve its planning and construction, strengthen management, and enhance the team's collaboration efficiency and employees' professional skills.
