To promote cultural exchange and deepen the friendship between China and Nepal, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board, and the Kathmandu Metropolitan Government jointly sponsored a series of Chinese New Year celebration events in Nepal.

On Feb 9, the dragon and lion dance parade took place in Thamel, a globally renowned tourist destination in Kathmandu. Invited by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Yunnan University's selected a dragon and lion dance martial arts team to participate in the event.

The team, along with their counterparts from Shenzhen, China, and local performers from Nepal, delivered fantastic traditional martial arts performances, eliciting applause and cheers from the audience.

A dragon and lion dance parade also took place at Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.
