The kickoff meeting for the project "Precision Medicine Research on Immune Response to Important Preventive Vaccines" (2023YFC2307600) was held at Yunnan University on March 8.
This project is led by Yunnan University, and is one of the key projects of the National Key Research and Development Program for "Pathogen Biology and Epidemic Prevention Technology System Research" in 2023.
The project focuses on four sub-topics related to preventive vaccines for major infectious diseases, including research on vaccine effects and safety characteristics, comprehensive research on vaccine responses, and genomic regulation research on immune responses.
The aim of the project is to provide the scientific basis for China's precision vaccine immunization and vaccine optimization, and to establish a platform for precision preventive medicine research.
Researcher Zhang Zijie, leader of the project, reported on the overall situation of the project and the research implementation plans for each sub-topic, as well as the latest research progress.
After listening to the report, the attending experts affirmed the significance of the project's research and its research plans, and provided suggestions on potential difficulties that may arise during the project implementation. Experts also hoped that the participating units in the project would strengthen cooperation, ensure data sharing, and complete the project with high quality.
The project's expert committee is composed of seven experts, including Wang Youchun, director of the Institute of Medical Biology at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
