Daoxiang Book House is a new type of cultural space that was jointly built by Menghai county, Yunnan University, Dianchi College, and caring individuals in Manla village, Menghai. Covering an area of 70 square meters, this reading space features over 1,000 books.
This event was jointly organized by graduate students from Yunnan University's School of Agriculture, along with retired teachers from the Menghai bureau of education and sports. It aims to encourage children to develop good reading habits, while also addressing after-school tutoring difficulties faced by over 40 left-behind children.
Graduate students from Yunnan University's School of Agriculture also led the children on a field trip to observe the perennial rice experimental fields at the Yunnan University Science and Technology Backyard, which is located in Manla village. They taught the children popular science knowledge about perennial rice varieties, cultivation techniques, and related topics.
