Yunnan University (YNU), located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, collaborated with foreign partner institutions in Bangladesh and Iran to host a series of events marking Chinese Language Day on April 19.
Representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and the Confucius Institutes at Dhaka University and North South University in Bangladesh joined hands with YNU on April 4.
This was to participate in a special episode of the television program Charming Chinese, jointly recorded by the Chinese Language Department of China Central Radio and Television and Bangladesh broadcaster RTV.
The two Confucius institutes were built by Yunnan University and Bangladesh, so the Chinese teachers teaching at the two Confucius institutes are from YNU.

During the recording, the representatives discussed the global significance and universal values of Confucianism, affirming the role of Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange between China and Bangladesh.
Local Chinese teachers and international students also shared their firsthand experiences and feelings about learning Chinese, participating in exchanges in China and studying in China.
Elsewhere, on April 9, the Confucius Institute at the University of Tehran invited Ma Feng, a teacher sent from Yunnan University, to give a special lecture to students and faculty.
Ma shared representative works from The Book of Songs – the earliest collection of poems in China – and modern and contemporary literature.
