YNU and Dehong sign pact to tackle regional challenges

The School of Ethnology and Sociology at Yunnan University recently signed a framework cooperation agreement with the Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture government in Mangshi, Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The two sides held a research symposium and the signing ceremony of the framework cooperation agreement.

During the symposium, He Ming, dean of the School of Ethnology and Sociology at Yunnan University, stated that through cooperation with Dehong, faculty and students of the school would dedicate themselves to researching and addressing the strategic issues faced by border regions, providing a scientific basis for national policies.

At the same time, He expressed that the School of Ethnology and Sociology at Yunnan University would propose solutions directly addressing the development needs of Dehong, including its economic development, social stability, and ethnic unity.

After the symposium, it was reported that the research team from Yunnan University, accompanied by officials from the Dehong people's government, conducted inspections in the cities of Mangshi and Ruili. They also formally announced the establishment of a research base to conduct in-depth social and cultural studies.
