To promote effective communication and academic cooperation among the member universities of the South and Southeast Asian University Network, the secretariat implemented the second phase of the Chair Professorship Program from May 6 to 27.
The program welcomed an expert from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh to Yunnan University for academic exchange.
The activities included delivering lectures, engaging in academic discussions with collaborating scholars, participating in Bengali language classes to interact with students, and discussing future cooperation between YNU and the ULAB with the secretariat.
The implementation of the Chair Professorship Program has laid a solid foundation for academic exchange and cooperation among the member universities of the network and will further promote collaboration between the two universities in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, and joint teaching and research.
Reflection on the Program:
Minhaz Uddin Ahmed, associate professor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh
Yunnan University has initiated the South and Southeast Asian Universities Network to promote academic exchange and collaboration among reputed universities in the region. This collaboration has successfully cultivated multilateral relationships among member universities through student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, academic conferences, and a multitude of academic activities. As the ambassador of ULAB to the South and Southeast Asian Universities Network, I am honored to be offered the Chair-Professorship position at Yunnan University. This position has provided me with the opportunity to engage with Yunnan University students through teaching classes, seminars, and open discussions. Most importantly, it includes a joint research project with a distinguished professor from the School of Business. The program also paves the way for strengthening the bilateral relationship between ULAB and YNU through ongoing teaching and learning across various disciplines. Moreover, experiencing Chinese culture, observing their daily lives, and witnessing their meticulous and organized systems designed to ensure the safety and prosperity of their citizens have left a deep impression on me. I wholeheartedly wish for a strong and enduring friendship between ULAB and YNU.
