The first International Culture Week Essay Competition at Yunnan University kicked off on March 25.
The event attracted participation from 52 international students from various schools of Yunnan University, including the School of Ethnology and Sociology, School of Business Administration and Tourism Management, School of International Chinese Education, and others. Among the participants, 26 students from various countries, such as Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand, won awards in the competition.
These students centered their essays on three major themes: "My Wonderful Time at Yunnan University", "My Story with China", and "The Belt and Road Initiative: My Exploration and Insights". Through unique perspectives, sincere emotions, and profound insights, they vividly illustrated the deep bonds and close integration between international students at Yunnan University and Chinese culture and society.
After the evaluation, Muran Nansan and four others were awarded first prize, Ruan Fanhewei and seven others received second prize, and Gao Yajuan and twelve others were awarded third prize.
The participants explored the deeply moving elements of Chinese culture from an outside perspective, weaving their beautiful encounters with China into vibrant cultural narratives. Speaking as firsthand witnesses, they recounted their experiences studying and living in China, revealing the truth about how China and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative are working together toward prosperity.
