Yunnan University stages faculty badminton tournament

Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Southwest China's Yunnan province – staged a badminton tournament for members of its faculty, as part of its overall faculty health and fitness program.

The event, organized by the Yunnan University Functional Departments Trade Union, lasted a fortnight and after strong competition wrapped up on May 24.

Some 18 teams of nearly 100 players participated.

The tournament was conducted in a team format. On the court, players showed their agility and skills in every match, demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.

After lively competition, the team representing the Party and Government Office won the championship, while the teams from the Undergraduate School and the Office of Asset and Laboratory Management secured second and third places, respectively.

The event was said to not only strengthen health awareness in the faculty, but also promote communications among colleagues.
