Yunnan University holds zoology forum for doctoral students

Yunnan University, or YNU – in collaboration with the China Zoological Society and the Kunming Institute of Zoology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences – hosted the 2024 National Doctoral Forum on Zoology on Aug 21-22 in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

Coinciding with the 90th anniversary of the China Zoological Society, the forum aimed to promote academic exchanges among doctoral students in the field.

During the event, various branches of zoology – including mammals, birds, fish and insects – were discussed at length by doctoral students, showing their latest research findings and academic insights.

The forum especially invited five young scholars who are achieving outstanding sci-tech achievements in zoology to serve as reviewers.

They provided feedback and offered insightful suggestions on each academic presentation.

After a fair and rigorous evaluation, 17 outstanding academic presentations received awards from the forum.
