The Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Conference and Sci-tech Awards Ceremony, held on Sept 3 in Kunming city, recognized outstanding sci-tech achievements in 2023. A total of 10 projects from Yunnan University were honored at the ceremony.

Three Yunnan University projects received first prizes: The Mechanism of Nematode Perception and Response to Stress, Research on Dirac Shock Waves and Related Issues, and The Development and Application of Key Technologies and Modular Equipment for Bionic Photocatalytic Treatment of High-Concentration Organic Wastewater.
Two projects, Ultrasound Detection of Dynamic Information for Early Carotid Arteriosclerosis and Theory and Key Technologies for Human Habitat Adaptability in Highland Mountain Areas, were awarded Second Prizes.
The remaining projects earned Third Prizes, including Multidimensional Probabilistic Analysis of Media Access Control in Wireless Networks, Design and Modification of Molecularly Imprinted Metal Oxide Semiconductor Gas-Sensitive Materials, and Controllable Synthesis and Micro-Mechanism Studies.
Other Third-Prize-winning projects included Reliability Assurance Theory and Methods for Mobile Edge Information Services in Resource-Constrained and Uncertain IoT, Epigenetic Regulatory Mechanisms of Paraquat-Induced Lung and Kidney Damage and Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Applications, and Development and Promotion of Comprehensive Rural Eye Care Service Models in Yunnan Province.
