YNU-affiliated hospital advances medical exchanges with Laos

The Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province – has been advancing medical exchanges with Laos.

It held a medical technology exchange and cooperation training program for Laos in Kunming from Aug 25 to Sept 1, aimed at South and Southeast Asia.

The program was attended by 30 emergency medical professionals from five central hospitals in Laos.

The initiative aimed to foster deeper collaboration between Yunnan and South and Southeast Asian countries in the healthcare sector, enhancing the exchange and sharing of medical technology.

The training focused on critical emergency medical techniques, including acute poisoning treatment, management of severe infections and trauma care.

Experts in emergency medicine, critical care, anesthesiology and infectious disease from across China were invited to lead the lectures.

Participants engaged in simulation exercises, academic discussions and experience sharing – receiving high praise from the trainers.

The successful organization of the training program is said to have highlighted the progress of Yunnan University Affiliated Hospital in promoting international cooperation in medical technology.

Moving forwards, plans are for the hospital to strengthen its ties with medical institutions in South and Southeast Asia, aiming to improve healthcare standards across the region.
