Yunnan University or YNU – located in Kunming, capital city of Southwest China's Yunnan province – recently sent off the third team in its Sports and Aesthetic Education Voluntary Program to Jinghong city in the region.

The group of 43 members comprised 40 students and three faculty members from the School of Physical Education, the School of Art and Design and the Changxin International Academy of Arts of Yunnan University. They'll serve in 17 local primary and secondary schools for four months.

Before departing, the volunteers received extensive training in accordance with the latest national standards for physical and arts education – alongside workshops on classroom management, teacher professionalism and health protection.

On arriving in Jinghong, the team was warmly welcomed by the local education and sports bureau.

Over the next four months, the volunteers will work closely with Jinghong's schools in seven different towns.

In so doing, they will provide support in areas such as curriculum development, extracurricular activities, cultural initiatives and community outreach programs – contributing to Jinghong's social and educational growth.
