The team includes experts in general surgery, urology, anesthesiology, ENT, rehabilitation, and infectious diseases, covering multiple essential medical fields.

During their mission, the medical team will provide high-quality healthcare services to Ugandan residents and focus on training local medical professionals to develop a skilled team of healthcare specialists. Additionally, the team will offer necessary medical support and services to Chinese diplomatic personnel, Chinese enterprise staff members, and the overseas Chinese community in Uganda.

As a key gateway in Southwest China, Yunnan province has been actively involved in the country's medical aid missions since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In December 1964, Yunnan sent its first medical team to Laos, taking on the national responsibility of international medical assistance.

In 1983, Yunnan sent its first medical team to Uganda, and over the past 40 years, it has deployed 23 medical teams consisting of 218 healthcare professionals. They have treated over 100,000 patients and participated in numerous international humanitarian and crisis relief missions, earning high praise from the Ugandan government and the public.
